Team intent
What the studio believes it is making.
An independent review of your build, pitch, Steam page and available player evidence—before the next major production decision.
See what is working, what remains assumed and what deserves attention next. Privately, and without turning your unreleased game into a public market test.
No build or confidential material is needed for the first call.
Why an outside view matters
Shared context helps a team build. It can also hide the gap between what the team intends and what everyone else can actually see.
Turn Advantage compares the team’s intent with the playable experience, the pitch, the store page and the evidence you already have. The goal is not reassurance. It is a clearer basis for the next commitment.
What the studio believes it is making.
What a new player actually experiences.
What the pitch, trailer and store page say.
What players have actually shown you.
Clarity inside the team is not the same as clarity outside it.
Turn Advantage Counsel
The review looks for the decisions hidden beneath surface feedback: what is clear, what is costly, what is unproven and what should happen next.
Is the game clear about who it is for, what it asks of them and why they should care?
What has the build actually demonstrated—and what is the team still taking on faith?
What does the opening teach, promise and demand before the player has shared context?
Which work strengthens the game, and which work is postponing a harder decision?
Do the materials communicate the same game the team believes it is building?
What do existing playtests and audience signals support, contradict or leave unknown?
Boundary: expert review, not a sales prediction or a public market-validation exercise.
Private projects remain private
Fresh judgment does not require public exposure. Access is agreed around the project, not imposed on it.
An NDA can be agreed before sensitive materials are shared.
Your studio chooses how the build and documents are accessed.
No public testing or audience recruitment is required.
Nothing is shared or used as a case study without written permission.
Retention and deletion terms are agreed before the review begins.
The review happens inside your studio environment.
Restricted remote access without permanently transferring the build.
Only the materials needed, under access and deletion terms agreed first.
The decision memo
You do not receive a giant feedback dump. Every finding is tied to a decision the team can use: preserve it, remove it or investigate it before committing further.
What has the project earned the right to do next?
What already carries the player promise.
What adds cost without strengthening it.
What the next decision still depends on.
How the engagement runs
The process is structured enough to move quickly and narrow enough to stay focused on the decision that matters.
Define the decision ahead, the questions the studio needs answered and the access boundaries for the review.
Capture what the project communicates before the team explains what the reviewer is expected to see.
Examine the build, pitch, trailer, Steam page and available player evidence as one connected case.
Challenge the findings, agree the next priorities and receive the written Keep / Cut / Test decision memo.
Take one second look at revised materials, new evidence or the changes made after the review.
Independent counsel
Turn Advantage was founded by Dr Cody, a programmer and game development educator with over a decade of teaching experience and extensive research in games and development.
The work is grounded in a simple distinction: tutorials can show a team how to add a feature. Good counsel helps the team decide whether that feature deserves to exist.
